Thomas-Tianwei Wang is the R&D Principal Engineer at ABB Robotics. He served as the technical leader for the Robotics Item Picker product. Wang has led cross-functional development teams, applied machine learning, deep neural network technologies, and machine vision methods, successfully solving complex item picking problems. He also proposed and spearheaded the development of the innovative Smart Surface Segmentation, Sorting, and Classification algorithm to achieve efficient object recognition and highly precise grasping. Wang has a PHD in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University.
