Suzy Teele is the Head of Marketing & Communications for Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM). ARM is an early-stage organization tasked with building the nation’s leading collaborative in robotics and workforce innovation. Structured as a public-private partnership, ARM accelerates the advancement of transformative robotic technologies and education to increase U.S. global manufacturing competitiveness. In January 2017, it received $80M in funding from the US government to accomplish this task, with an additional $170 in cost-share contributed by industry.
Suzy has over twenty years of experience in business strategy, product management, customer acquisition and retention, marketing, sales, and business development. Suzy was also an executive at several software companies, driving revenue growth as a COO or CMO. Specific accomplishments include: Led four organizations in executive roles to their highest levels of growth; Helped launch 17 new companies or divisions in markets as diverse as IT, healthcare, media, manufacturing, medical devices, finance, retail, robotics, logistics, and industrial supplies; Directed the product commercialization and market success for more than 50 products and services; Drove strategy and implementation for 10+ acquisitions, including some of the largest in software history; Deep digital marketing expertise including lead generation, inbound and outbound marketing, marketing analytics, social media, email, content creation and management, advertising, public relations. branding; Extensive management, hiring and retention experience, including building teams from scratch to leading a 220-person worldwide organization; Ran a successful consulting company that helped over 60 companies grow sales and market share while developing talent; Suzy has been recognized as an Indiana University of PA (IUP) Distinguished Alumni and has been inducted into the IUP Business Hall of Fame. Other accolades include a Greater Pittsburgh Athena Award finalist and recognition as a Pittsburgh technology leader. A native of the greater Pittsburgh, PA area, Suzy volunteers her time to teaching and mentoring entrepreneurs in the Pittsburgh region as well as supporting women in technology.
