Chris Padwick is Director of Computer Vision Machine Learning at Blue River Technology, a wholly owned John Deere subsidiary. In his current role, Chris oversees the development of computer vision agriculture technology, like See & Spray, a CV/ML-enabled sprayer that can detect where every weed is in a field and apply herbicide only and exactly where it’s needed. Before this role, Chris was a technical fellow at Blue River, managing the deep learning team. Chris also holds multiple patents related to digital image processing and machine learning systems for agriculture. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Regina and a master’s in physics from The University of British Columbia.
