Precision, Power, Perception: Enabling Next-Gen Humanoid Actuation
10:45 am - 11:30 am
Room 206

As humanoids grow in complexity, the demands on their actuation systems escalate, requiring unprecedented levels of precision, power density, and energy efficiency. This session will dissect the critical technological advancements that are making next-generation robotic actuation possible. We will explore three solutions that address these challenges: -High fidelity tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors for motor actuator torque and position control for greater accuracy and speed in compact form factors. -The strategic deployment of high-voltage GaN-based power devices to improve power density and reduce I²R losses in robotic joints. -The integration of embedded AI at the sensor edge to perform pattern abstraction and information representation while minimizing data movement and reducing power consumption. Drawing from real world examples and the latest research, attendees will discover how these integrated technologies converge to create more capable, efficient, and intelligent robotic systems.
