David joined Amazon in 2013; he is currently leading an engineering group in Seattle developing large scale perception and automation systems. He has consulted internationally helping companies develop automated solutions to complex processes. He holds multiple patents in automated material handling, product design, and human machine interfaces. David started his career in high speed automation, robotics, and prototype development at Blount International (Portland, OR). Prior to this, David worked in the Portland Technology Development group at Intel’s flagship D1X class automated IC fab. He has bachelor’s degree in both Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
